Gondolas are Danny’s new very favorite thing….
My youngest Jack tells me today.
Complete with eye roll and big sigh.
Have I told you that Jack is eleven?
Don’t be fooled. Age three is not the trickiest.
It’s the time from eleven until thirteen.
So here is Jack at the pool this afternoon.
“I told you that I don’t want to swim….”
He sat there all mopey until he just couldn’t stand it anymore.
Just in case you were wondering, the amount of time an eleven year old needs to mope before said point is made is about ten minutes.
I think he would have lasted longer if it weren’t so hot.
And you know what one does when one takes a mental health day in Colorado?
One decides that even at 6200 feet one isn’t close enough to the sky.
We took the boys to the top of mount evens.
I happen to have trouble with heights….the drive up…yikes!! Jack kept teasing me to “open your eyes mom…!!!”
But it was awesome.
You can see forever.
And then just up the road, we hit the tree line….
Continuing up we ran into these guys….
At 12,800 feet we explored…
After loads of stops for pictures and multiple hairpin turns, 14,100 feet….
It isn’t just the lack of oxygen that makes you catch your breath.
Danny loved everything about it, especially being able to snack on snow in the end of June. But jack enjoyed himself as well!
So totally worth the wind and the 43 degree temperature!
This is mulligan.
He is our two year old full love not an aggressive bone in his 96 pound body, lab.
The last week, I’ve been teaching mulligan to chase squirrels.
Mostly because of this guy….
This poor squirrel is at the end of his little squirrel life. He has some
sort of growth on his cheek.
And the cheeky thing, no pun intended, keeps trying to come into my house.
You know what?
I’m a live and let live kind of gal, but I do draw the line at sickly and dying squirrels in the house.
“Mulligan….get the squirrel!!!”
