While Hugh and Jack played baseball, the rest of us Marrtians hit the pool.
Early, because by noon the weather rolls in.
But then it rolls right back out again.
My neighbor participated in the garage sale extravaganza that went on this weekend.
“Laura, would you want to do something with this?”
Oh you betcha.
Now the pair of them are gracing our back garden.
It’s a perfect start to the summer day.
Today Miss Bogey did her part for controlling the population of unwanted puppies.
It’s going to be a long week or two.
All the Marrtians, except Hugh…you know… because he has a job, are sporting our first color of the summer season.
Jack because of the middle school pool party yesterday. Danny, Jillian, and I from the visits to the pool the last couple of days. And even Miss Kate hit the pool this afternoon after she got out of school.
Now starts my favorite ten weeks of the year.
And best of all….pool season!!!!
And not just because our neighborhood pools feel like a mini vacation.
I’m not that shallow.
Well, I am.
But that’s not what I mean here.
It’s because there is nothing that builds up Danny’s strength and endurance than swimming everyday.
But it absolutely resonates after the conversations of this evening…..and my philosophy of life.
We got him out of bed to hit the basement.
This is only the second warning I’ve been a part of since I landed in Colorado twenty two years ago.
