That’s how long it took me to convince Danny to leave the house today.
I don’t know why we were arguing.
He always enjoys the canyon once we get there.
So Hugh and I were taking this evening. Not about taxes. Not about the kids…
But about the splurge of renting an apartment in a brownstone less than a block off the park in manhattans upper west side.
And how it completely makes sense if you understood where they let the marathoners out of the park and how hard it is to actually get anywhere from there.
But it also has the bonus of being a block and a half from the best meal I’ve ever eaten.
We are still talking abut how the cheesy garlic sauce drizzled over the asparagus was to die for.
And totally contributed to Hugh signing up for the lottery to run again.
But it completely contributed to my going. And where we are staying next November.
And we still have three weeks left….
Today was a long day.
D decided to wake at 1:30am last night.
Hugh stayed with us instead of going to work at his tax season two hours before ungodly because I’m tired.
And for that I am grateful. I am so grateful that I didn’t have to do the night alone.
The entire day was bumpy as both Danny and I were cranky
But it’s over.
At least d is sleeping.
My day won’t end until Kate gets home safely from the movie….because I over the top worry about my teen driver.
Best of all???
After much researching, I managed to locate and book an apartment in a brownstone on the upper west side during the marathon in November. Because even though the finish line is at Columbus Circle…they don’t actually let the marathoners out of the park until the upper west side. Who knew???
Years, no yikes…decades ago I had a job in a country bar in the northern suburbs of Denver. Town ended just north of The Cactus Moon.
And you used to be able to tell time by the songs the dj played
I just spent three hours with my favorite bar back…
Aka your favorite tax CPA.
“Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers
Remember when you’re talkin’ to the man upstairs
That just because he doesn’t answer doesn’t mean he don’t care
Some of God’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers”
Today was my errand day. I had a few things I needed to get done.
Danny also asked “swimming”
So we compromised.
First “four” then “swimming”
And it took some convincing….
But he went along.
First stop? Sausage…
Now just three more stops…
Then only two more stops.
Next place? We had a chair that needed to be donated.
Only one more place to go…
We needed new goggles…
Then it was time to finally go swimming.
We had a good day.
Although Kate and Jack are a little annoyed that one of the stops didn’t include picking up snack food.
